One of the mandates of Quirkgirl Productions is to empower female voices. We had a team if young filmmakers and development studies students head over to Kenya in June, July and August of 2015 to capture the stories of a wonderful organization, and those who benefit from it, called Living Positive in Kenya (LPK). Living Positive is about empowering women living with HIV AIDS through education, rehabilitation and training. I would encourage you to check out their website to find out more information about what they do to empower women living with HIV AIDS. Yesterday we had a status meeting with Ingrid Vargas, the director of the project, who shared a few of the stories they captured about LPK and several of the women who have benefited from the critically sustainable humanitarian work being done. They are in transcribing stage of post-production, but the stories she told me hit the heart. And, I cannot wait to see what they put together. This is truly an international project which just goes to show what an individual here (Canada) an individual there (Argentina, Kenya) can accomplish. This organization is doing some pretty powerful things and we are just thrilled to be putting together a project to show the world. www.livingpositivekenya.org
